³⁷ Answer me, O Lord, answer me so that this people might know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”

³⁸ The fire of the Lord fell down and consumed the burnt offering as well as the wood, the stones, the soil, and even the water that it licked up from the trench. ³⁹ When all of the people saw this, they fell down upon their faces and said, “The Lord is God; the Lord is God!”
